A right way, a wrong way and God’s way

Luke 5:4
Jesus Calls the First Disciples

There is a right and a wrong way and there is God’s way.

4. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5. And Simon answered, “Master, we tooiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” 6. And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. 7. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell to his knees, saying,”Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” 9. For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10. and so aslso were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be affraid; from now on you will be catching men.” 11. And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Simeon and his friends had been fishing all day and caught nothing. Jesus came along and just spoke “Pull out to the deep waters and let down your nets for a catch”. Jesus told him what to do, how to do it and where to do it. Simon responded in a hesistant manner as we often do, but he did as Jesus said and was blessed. Not only was he blessed with more than he had expected but his eyes was open to his sinful self and his need for Jesus. Simon after seeing this miricle catch fell down and asked Jesus to depart from him, probably because his knees were to weak to carry himself from the presence of the Lord and of course because he knew that Jesus was Holy, to Holy for himself to be in the presence of the Lord.

Maybe God is telling you to cast your net somewhere else, in the deep to get the blessings he has in store for you. How will you or are you responding. How does your faith meter look, how does it register full, half full or is it sitting on empty. Jesus is telling you today to pull out to the deep (have faith), let down your nets (do as he tells you to do), for a catch (and reap the rewards of following him). You cannot loose with Jesus on your side.

Man will have you going in circles fishing all day without any catch and have you wondering why, why am I failing, why am I not a success? Pull out in the deep, let down your nets for a catch and follow God’s way the straight and the narrow path not the way of this world where everything is everything and all is good, where you can do no wrong and everything is acceptable. Hear me today my friend! Pull out to the deep, you know what God is trying to tell you, cast your net, do not be affraid and accept God as your Lord and Savior today and reap the rewards of being with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords instead of burning in the lake of Fire. God has a plan for you! Pull out to the deep! Stop living the wrong way or the way you may think is the right way, instead choose Jesus as your Lord and Savior and live God’s way.
